All countries in the world that have not yet done so must prepare climate change adaptation plans by 2025. The new call from Bonn was launched by UN Climate Change Executive Secretary Simon Stiell, who warned that there is still a long way to go to limit global warming to 2.7 to 1.5 degrees by the end of the century. "We are heading for an increase of 2.7 degrees: this is still a catastrophic amount, and the road ahead of us to reach our common goal of 1.5 (degrees) this century is long and full of obstacles," he said at the inauguration of the 60th auxiliary authorities climate conference in Bonn. The two-day conference, attended by approximately 6,000 participants, including national representatives, non-governmental organizations and civil society activists, aims to promote progress and prepare decisions for approval at the upcoming COP29, which will be held next November in the capital of Azerbaijan, Baku.
