The European Union and Azerbaijan will continue to strengthen cooperation in the field of energy policy, with the main focus on the development of renewable energy sources and the improvement of energy efficiency ahead of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), and the Azerbaijan Presidency will be the key to joining efforts about further reducing emissions, he said Tim McPhie , spokesperson for climate and energy in the European Commission.

According to him, COP29 will be the first stage of the evaluation of the fulfillment of the commitments made by the parties at last year's meeting - COP28 in Dubai, to triple the capacity of renewable energy sources and double energy efficiency. (More on report.az)
