The Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service (CAMS*) and the Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S*) are preparing to participate in COP28, to be held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on 30 November - 12 December 2023. At COP28, the world will assess their progress in meeting commitments under the Paris Agreement, and both CAMS and C3S will highlight how quality-assured data on atmospheric composition and Earth's changing climate support policy-making and global efforts to mitigate and adapt to climate change. Friday 1 December promises to be an action-packed day at COP28. Copernicus involvement starts at 10:00-11:30 (GST) with an event organized by the German Meteorological Service (DWD) to discuss the Integrated Greenhouse Gas Monitoring System. Here, CAMS Deputy Director Richard Engelen will provide a European perspective and highlight the contribution of CAMS data to the monitoring system.
