A massive heat wave is again predicted for Western Europe - unusually high temperatures will develop under the heat dome in the first week of September 2023

The weather fluctuation in the last days of August brought a great refreshment for a large part of Europe. Believe it or not, another intense heat wave is just around the corner. From Monday, a large heat dome will build over the western half of the European continent, engulfing France, Benelux and the United Kingdom in extreme heat. This could be a record challenge for September, as a new strong heat wave will intensify during the week.  The heat will gradually spread to central and northern Europe as the heat dome spreads across much of the continent. According to forecasts, this typical weather pattern will dominate Europe for about 7 to 10 days, possibly until mid-September. This will result in extreme and significantly anomalous temperatures in many parts of Europe. (Marko Korošec)
