The Outdoor Advertising Union (UPE) presents its 'adOOHcc' tool capable of measuring the CO2 emissions of 'print and digital' outdoor advertising campaigns. What if we calculated the carbon footprint of each advertising campaign? In addition to visual pollution, advertising posters can be a source of carbon emissions generated by unnecessary printing, excessive digital consumption or filming methods. Recognizing this problem, the Outdoor Advertising Union created adOOHcc (Advertising Out Of Home Carbon Calculator), developed with Axionable. This calculator is used to measure CO2 emissions from print and digital outdoor advertising campaigns. adOOHcc is to be integrated into future "climate treaties" introduced in Climate and Resilience Act . These are intended to materialize the commitments of advertising professionals in favor of reducing CO2 emissions. For more responsible advertising, actors in the sector must produce and design editorial or advertising content within the framework of these contracts with regard to their ecological and social footprint.
