How to store carbon in the soil so that you can make money?

Storing carbon in the soil is a lengthy and expensive process for Australian farmers, but when the credits finally arrive, two farms will see if it adds value to their properties. And hundreds of other farms have signed up to sell soil carbon credits. Australia's first soil carbon credits have been awarded under the new 2021 methodology, awarding a total of 151,312 Australian Carbon Credit Units (ACCUs) to two farming families in Queensland. The scheme works by allocating a carbon credit – known as an Australian Carbon Credit Unit (ACCU) – for every tonne of greenhouse gases avoided or saved by registered projects.
