Climate change may harm the mental health of older adults

Climate change is expected to increase the severity and frequency of wildfires and other environmental disasters in California and beyond. Wildfires, such as the recent fires in Canada that brought smoke to the Midwest and Northeast regions of the United States, pose a threat to the physical health of older adults, especially those in marginalized communities.
