"Here we are at home - Hurbanovo - responsible for people and the planet"

CHALLENGE 1 –  The goal is to stimulate and support the mutual cooperation of active people of the city of Hurbanovo in the field of environmental protection, which is one of priorities of Heineken Slovensko, as. The added value of the submitted projects lies in the fact that the applicants actively participate in them on a voluntary basis, without the right to remuneration, using their knowledge and experience.

Projects related to the grant program are welcome improvement of environmental quality and sustainability in the following topics:

ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION

• WATER
  For example projects offering solutions that save drinking water, projects to protect groundwater from pollution, capture and use rainwater, information campaigns for the public aimed at pointing out the importance of water in the ecosystem and the importance of saving water, it can also be about educating children and youth in the area of responsible access to drinking water, ... .
• WASTE REDUCTION
  For example it can be the introduction of composters, improvement of waste management (separation of waste, reduction of black landfills...), reduction of waste (packaging-free sales, introduction of returnable cans and PET bottles) including the implementation of education for children and youth and information campaigns for the public in this area, ... .
• REDUCING THE CARBON FOOTPRINT
  For example it can be about the support of bicycle transport, including the related small infrastructure, the implementation of education for the general public in the area of reducing the carbon footprint in the area of energy, food, clothing, etc.

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
For example it can be projects aimed at the establishment and active use of community gardens, modification of public spaces with an emphasis on the development of environmental aspects of the given spaces (e.g. green roofs, planting and revitalization of greenery including elements of small park and garden architecture), development of beekeeping, establishment and maintenance of community orchards, reduction of pesticides and ecological cultivation of crops (e.g. production gardens and fields - school, municipal), including implementation of education of children, youth and information campaigns for the public in this area, ... .
