More than 100 countries back Pacific island bid to seek responsibility for climate crisis at world's highest court
Of the 193 member states of the United Nations, 105 have now supported Vanuatu's call for the International Court of Justice (ICJ) to issue an advisory opinion on states' legal obligations on climate and the consequences of causing harm.
Nations large and small including most of Europe, Australia, Canada, Vietnam, Colombia and Bangladesh now they co-finance draft resolution, which must be approved by the entire UN.
